Data source: NOAA Aviation Weather Center METAR API, relayed through a lightweight Cloudflare Worker for browser compatibility. Temperature / dewpoint history requests use a 12-hour METAR window. Map view uses Leaflet and OpenStreetMap tiles. Map marker colors use aviation category, with purple reserved for explicit TS/VCTS/LTG. Forecast uses the NWS hourly point forecast route through the Worker. NWS forecast winds are converted from mph to kt for consistency with METAR winds. Ceiling is computed from the lowest BKN, OVC, or VV layer; category is computed from ceiling and visibility; METAR weather codes are decoded for quick scanning. Wind text uses the METAR “from” convention; the compass pointer shows flow direction. The bar fills to sustained wind speed, and a “G” marker shows gust speed when present.
